The Bucovina Society meeting was held primarily on June 14 and 15, 2001 in Suceava.
On June 14th we went to the German Catholic church in Radeutz, for the Feast of Corpus Christus. This involved a mass in a large church and then a procession through the town. That afternoon we visited an exhibit presented by the Augsburg University, at the Suceava University. At 6:00 pm in the evening, we attended a spectacular musical pageant in the Culture Center across from our hotel. The music was outstanding; Ukranian singers, dancers, orchestra, and the Salzgitter choral group from Gemany. We thought it deserved a standing ovation but the crowd did not move!
